OK, so I'm learning from my mistake last night and am not checking my "professional" email before bed. That just leads to too many sleepless hours.

I totally spoiled myself today. I spent $100 at the mall. What did I get? Four books, a birthday card, and some food at Taco Bell. I think the books are the most important.

First of all I spent $50 on the Dreamweaver CS3 Bible, deciding that if I'm going into real-world web design which it looks like I am, that thing is going to be my best friend. CSS, HTML all packed into one huge honking $50 paperback with a companion CD. Though I suppose considering the fact that the software costs $400, the book is a steal. Hopefully my new employer is going to buy me the software.

Then I found this amazing little book called "Zen in the Art of Writing" by none other than my fave sci-fi author Ray Bradbury. It was hiding in the writing section and I immediately fell in love with it. Bradbury is amazing.

Speaking of him I also got a collection of 100 of his short stories. Because you know I need more books to tote off to college with me, as if my suitcases aren't going to be heavy enough. But I think it was worth it.

Finally I bought my mom some book that she wanted, just because I was feeling nice and she deserves presents.

I really, really hope Matt was right and that I'm not biting off more than I can chew here. I kinda feel like I'm jumping off a cliff and maybe I am, but it's one hell of an exciting and well-paying cliff. Let's just hope I figure out how to operate this damn parachute before I hit the bottom.
